LUNCH AT MORRIS POINT - JIM'S BIRTHDAY RIDE (C/CC EDITION)
Class C/CC 42 / 38 mi at 10:25 AM from Chaptico Park
Let's help Jim Hudnall celebrate his birthday and have a lunch-time birthday party at the Morris Point Restaurant. While Jim leads a B/CC group on a 48 mile route leaving from Mechanicsville Elementary School (48 miles in kilometers equals his age) we'll set out on a slightly less hilly but perhaps even more scenic route starting from Chaptico Park. With any luck, we'll meet at our first / his second rest stop at 7th District Park, then head down to St Clements Bay via Cobrum's Wharf, Maycroft and Ellis Ave together. We should, if all goes to plan, arrive with a few minutes of each other at the Morris Point Restaurant at roughly 12:30. After lunch, both groups will head towards a rest stop at Bushwood Wharf but first we'll take a scenic detour down to White's Neck Creek on MD-520, Oscar Hayden and Montfort [skipping this scenic detour saves 4 mi, giving you the 38 mi route]. Route map & GPS files are here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31389297 and the cue sheet is in the Cloud: http://bit.ly/34et9Nv BYOQ (Bring Your Own Cue sheet) Printed copies available by prior arrangement.
Directions: 26634 Budds Creek Rd, Mechanicsville, MD From I-495 take exit 7A for MD-5S. Head south on MD-5 for 11.7 mi. Turn left on MD-5S/Mattawoman-Beantown Rd., go 3.2 mi and turn left onto MD-5S/Leonardtown Rd. Go 5.9 mi and turn right onto Olivers Shop Rd. Go 5.9 mi, cross MD-6 and continue on Trinity Church Rd. Go 5.4 mi and turn left onto MD-234E. In 4 mi turn left into Chaptico Park, following park entrance road for 1 mi to parking area.
