TO THE DUCK FOR LUNCH
Class A 81 mi at 9:30 AM from Mechanicsville Elementary School
With our abnormally warm temperatures starting to recede, it’s time to enjoy a late-season spin to and from St. George’s Island. This spit of Quaternary deposits sits between the Potomac River and St. Georges Creek in St. Mary’s County, and peeks a mere two meters above sea level. The island is stunningly picturesque, especially where it is only 30 meters wide just south of the bridge. Here at the route’s midpoint is where the Ruddy Duck Seafood and Ale House offers a pleasant spot for lunch and technical rehydration. No rest stop outbound. Rest stops inbound at Leonardtown and Chaptico. Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/30415246. Cue sheet available at ride start.
Directions: 28585 Three Notch Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. Parking lot is accessible from both 3 Notch Road (MD 5) and Old Village Road.

HISTORIC BRIDGES & THE BIG SLIDE
Class C/CC Touring 45 mi at 10:00 AM from Utica District Park
Frederick County is home to many historic bridges: three covered bridges, the stone arch Legore Bridge, and also numerous 19th century iron truss bridges. It's also home to the famous Rocky Ridge Big Slide, a giant-sized covered wooden slide. This route visits them all -- well, not all the iron truss bridges in Frederick County, but at least four of them. There are rest stops at the Loy Station Covered Bridge (twice), High's in Thurmont, and also -- and for the last time, because it's moving off the route at the end of October, which may make it difficult to ever do this route again -- the Village Store in Detour. 45 miles, 2023' elevation gain. Route map and GPS files are here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29433178 and the cue sheet is in the Cloud: https://goo.gl/fDC19C BYOQ (Bring Your Own Cue Sheet) Printed copies available by prior arrangement.

Let’s do Riverside while the colors of fall are at their peak . I’ll be riding to enjoy the day and take in the scenery at B sport pace .I lead this ride several times a year for its beauty and low traffic . All riders welcomed to join in with the group or at your own pace . Bring snacks and water as there’s no guarantee the store will be open at the first rest stop @ mile 21 . Pigsah Park has bathrooms and water midway and the Pigsah store is always open at mile 32 . Hopefully you can find the GPS route using BR Riverside 44 . I’ll have cue sheets . The route is slightly challenging with rollers and it’s a good idea to save a little something for the last few miles. Hit me up for more info .

FEARSOMELY HAUNTED FORT HUNT
Class All ~22 mi at 10:00 AM from Fort Hunt Park
At this time of year, some of the neighborhoods in the Fort Hunt area are populated by grave robbers, demented scientists, and other ghastly ghouls. Join us to see some of the more elaborately decorated houses on this slow moving neighborhood ride. The ride leaders will make sure that the group stays together, waiting at lights (one) and turns if we get separated. And there will be plenty of turns, lots of stopping for viewing purposes, very little vehicular traffic, and it's basically flat. Route will be made available as a schedule update a few days before the actual ride along with the cue sheet. But be forewarned - last year's cue sheet was two pages long and the ride leaders reserve the right to change course at any time should better sights be around a different corner. Finally, CAUTION - this ride is not for the fainthearted, easily scared, or squeamish. Ride at your own risk - you have been warned! For those desiring a longer ride with a bit higher AMS, start at Belle Haven Park and ride the Mt Vernon Trail to Fort Hunt Park and join us there.
