| Oxon Hill Bicycle & Trail Club, Inc. (OHBTC) is an active
bicycling club with members and rides in Maryland, the District of Columbia,
and Northern Virginia. Membership is open to cyclists of all ages and abilities. If you are
interested in bicycling and helping it grow, this is the group for you! OHBTC is a non-profit, membership organization incorporated in 1972
to promote bicycling as a means of transportation,
recreation, health, and physical fitness.
SAFETY AND EDUCATION: OHBTC promotes bicycle safety and education.. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED ON CLUB RIDES. RIDES: OHBTC has frequent bike rides. Some are short, around town or in-the-park rides. Others are longer rides of up to 100 miles or more for the more experienced riders. The club's monthly ride schedule is online with a link from www.ohbike.org. BIKEWAYS: OHBTC actively supports and works toward the establishment of bikeways, trails and commuting bike routes within Prince George's County and Southern Maryland THE SPOKE N' WORD: The monthly newsletter of OHBTC contains the activities and announcements for the coming month, reports on club rides, and feature articles. MEETINGS: Meetings are held monthly to plan rides, conduct club business, and to enjoy special programs. The annual meeting, customarily preceded by a dinner, is held in March. AFFILIATED with League of American Bicyclists, One Less Car - Maryland Campaign for Bicycling and Walking, and Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA). MEMBERSHIP Applicants under 16 years of age are accepted in the family membership only. Family memberships include all children to age 21. Members receive the monthly newsletter "The Spoke 'n' Word" by first class mail or can download it from the Internet. Members can also join the OHBIKE Yahoo group. DUES:
