135 cyclists followed the Metric Arrows for 26, 40, or 63 miles for a ride benefiting the Cycle Across Maryland (CAM) Teens of Prince George's County. 

Over 85 bicyclists cycled down US 1 in College Park to promote bicycle awareness and the need for bike lanes on Route 1.

Bicycles everywhere!  Over 25 days and 725 miles by bicycle we saw thousands of bicycles.

Bicyclists came out in the cool dampness and rain to enjoy bicycling through the Patuxent Rural Legacy Area.  

"The trip was beyond great, exceeded my expectations" writes Larry Coleman about a week on the Trace with OHBIKE club members Jim and Jane Hudnall.

The Prince George's County Bicycle and Trail Advisory Group (BTAG) is considering on-road alternatives for the Potomac Heritage Trail. The on-road route would have signs and maps to designate the bike route through the county. BTAG is also determining preferred alignments for multi-use paths close to the river where possible.  

The Traditional New Year's Day Ride and Social started club members off toward the goal of riding 2000 miles (or kilometers if they prefer) in the year 2000.  

Bicyclists enjoyed riding on the Henson Creek Trail, a 6.5 mile hiker/biker/equestrian trail in Oxon Hill and Fort Washington.

" I thought your Century was awesome" was a comment from one of the 125 riders on the Oak Ridge Odyssey.  

Forty club members and guests came out on a hot and humid August morning for the club's annual picnic at Marshall Hall.  

Club members continued the tradition of Bob's Birthday Ride.  

Club members enjoyed an impromptu ride with a stop at the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary.  

More than 90 cyclists followed the Metric Arrows for 26, 40, or 63 miles for a ride benefiting the Cycle Across Maryland (CAM) Teens of Prince George's County.

The first ride on the club's May Ride Schedule was an all-class ride from Oak Ridge Park.  Eleven cyclists showed up for the ride on a beautiful morning that was cooler and windier than the forecast.  

Three cyclists from the Oxon Hill Bicycle and Trail Club joined hundreds of other cyclists at the Earth Day Bike-In Rally sponsored by the Washington Area Bicyclists Association.  

Forty club members attended the club's annual meeting and banquet at the Old County Buffet in Waldorf. Club President Pierre Summerville presented Certificates of Appreciation to club newsletter editor Dorothy Hodges and others. Our guest speaker, Sharon Ballenger, entertained everyone with stories from her bicycle trip across America.

Ten cyclists joined Jeanne to celebrate her birthday with a 59 km ride from Cosca Park. After  posing for the group picture, we tried singing Happy Birthday to Jeanne. Someone remarked, "If we can't ride better than we sing, we're in trouble." After a cold start, we had great weather for cycling, with the temperature climbing to 50 degrees.

Four of us from the club (Art, Dottie, Jane, and Jim) went in 1998 and had six days of great cycling.  For info on Bike Florida, click on the Bike Florida logo.

Bike Florida is just one of many multi-day rides that are presented by members of the National Bicycle Tour Directors Association. Their web site has a calendar of all the bicycle tours 3 days or longer, with links to each ride's  home page.

With record high temperatures, club members rode in short sleeves and shorts.  
 

Art, with help from Jeanne, Jim, and George, celebrated his 59th birthday with a 59+ mile ride to Cobb Island.

Bicycles Belong The Club is urging our government officials to use funding available through the federal Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) to complete the Henson Creek Hiker-Biker Trail.

 Can it still be November?  With bright sunshine and clear skies, the temperature was soon in the sixties.
