Saturday Impromptu Ride
Oxon Hill Bicycle and Trail Club
May 28, 1999

Since no ride was scheduled for the Saturday before Memorial Day,  Pierre made  phone calls and Jim sent out  email for an impromptu ride . Nineteen riders showed up at Gywnn Park High School.  Most riders chose the 43 mile route, with a few choosing the shorter 28 mile route and Dorothy a shorter route. Riders met at the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary where they posed for a group picture. The fast group got there last, as one of them had a blowout after hitting one of the many potholes on Fenno Road (does anyone know how we can get the county to resurface some of these pothole infested roads?)   The ride was another chance to enjoy bicycling on scenic roads with little traffic.
