The club's 1999 May Metric is Saturday, May 15. On Monday, May 10, five club members did a preview ride of part of the route. As we started out, George jokingly suggested we wait for a day with better weather. The weather could not have been better, with low humidity, moderate temperature, and almost no wind. The route meanders over some of the nicest rural roads in the area, with pastoral views of cattle and barns, meadows and plowed fields, and blossoming dogwoods and azaleas. We enjoyed a delightful stop at the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary and a lunch stop in Baden. |
